DIY Street Fair - Sept 22nd - 24th - Ferndale

The beloved FREE event is back for the TENTH year and this year, it's joined by Funky Ferndale Art Fair creating 2x the free fun for all. All attendees are invited to enjoy special performances like Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers, Hand Grenades, all while enjoying hand made products from local artisans including:

Craft beer, wine and cocktails
Artists, Makers and Crafters

Dlectricity - Sept 22nd-23rd - Midtown Detroit 

This free festival of art and light is returning to Detroit for the first time since 2014, unveiling 35 new artists. Woodward and John R between the DIA and MOCAD will be filled with light installations, projections, a light bike parade and all sorts of illuminations for all to enjoy.

Presented by DTE Energy foundation.


New Wave - Sept 22nd - Red Bull House of Art

Red Bull House of Art is pleased to present New Wave, a group exhibition organized by Ben Venom, featuring nine artists who are redefining how we view contemporary craft. Picking up the loose threads of the handmade in our tech dominated era, these artists are pushing the boundaries of their chosen medium. Examining themes of ritual, sexuality, and power, the work in this exhibition aims to shatter the myth of traditional craft-based work as a solely domestic art.

Protomartyr Record Release Show -  Sept 22nd - The Detroit Princess

Detroit's biggest indie band in years, Protomartyr will celebrate their most recent release, Relatives In Descent, aboard the Detroit Princess Riverboat. The all-ages show is planned for Friday, Sept. 22, and features a boat cruise and concert. Tickets are $15 for the concert and $20 for concert + cruise.

Techniicon - Sept 23rd - Northwestern Activities Center

Techniicon is the Metro Detroit’s anime event including a diverse influence of electronic music. Similar to most Con events, a bigger Rave music scene and a celebration of Japanese popular culture anime, Artwork, Film, Comics, and Video games

TECHNiiCON will be holding its debut celebration on September 23rd, 2017. The event will take place at Detroit's Northwest Activity Center; (just 10 minutes from downtown) from 7pm-1am. Corktoberfest - Sept 23rd - 2034 Michigan Ave

The 1st Annual Corktoberfest 2017 will feature over 101 different types of beers ranging from large batch, world famous brands to some of today’s greatest small batch craft beer options from around the world. Food from some of Corktown’s finest restaurants will also be available for purchase. Guests will enjoy live music, DJs, Food, and fun game/activities for all those 21+ and older!


1x Run presents Murals in the Market - Sept 21st - 28th - Eastern Market

This September 21st through the 28th, Murals In The Market makes a triumphant return to Detroit’s Historic Eastern Market as more than 50 local and international artists will be painting live throughout the district over the course of eight days in the third year of the city’s only international mural festival. Adding to Detroit’s unique history of placemaking and public art, we are proud to announce our new partnership with the William Davidson Foundation and welcome back the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and Eastern Market Corporation for this magnificent public arts festival.
